Bridal Shower Ideas

The time is here! Your dear friend is getting married, and you are going to help her celebrate! The bridal shower is one of those wedding staples that your friend will remember for the rest of her life. Make it a good one by borrowing a few of these tips:

Get creative with the cake. She’s going to have a big, beautiful wedding cake…so make the one at the bridal shower a bit more unique. Try cupcakes instead, and decorate them with freshly picked flowers. Or look into tiny cheesecakes. You can also give those cheesecakes as party favors as your guests say their goodbyes.

Take pictures. Take a picture of each guest at the party, and ask them to fill out an index card with encouraging words and comments for the bride-to-be. Later, put all of them together into a photo album and present your friend with the perfect gift to wrap up the perfect shower!

Collect roses. Ask each guest to bring a long-stemmed rose in their choice of color. Have a big, beautiful vase ready with water, and put the roses in. Your bride-to-be will have a lovely centerpiece for her table, and she will carry the good feeling of the gesture long after the roses are gone.

Follow old traditions. Who says old traditions are outdated? There is a tradition of baking a ring or some other trinket into one of the cakes served at the bridal shower, and whoever gets it is believed to be the next bride-to-be!

Ask everyone to come prepared with a short speech or a story about the bride-to-be. Make sure to have a tape recorder handy. The stories will inevitably lead to another, and another, and another…and the sense of nostalgia will wrap around your guest of honor like a warm blanket of friendship.

Finally, as your bride-to-be is leaving, slip the guest book into her purse, along with some blank thank-you notes. She will be grateful to have the notes in a few days, when she sits down with the guest book to make out all those cards!
